Almost Two

First, let me apologize that this blog gets so little use.  I look back and am embarrassed that it has been almost a year since I have posted.  I am in hopes that I will be changing my bad habits and have a better place to display images as I develop my portfolio more.

So, let's get to it!  Little Miss just got her kitchen for Christmas and between that and her dolls, she is a little mommy in the makings.  I love to sit and watch her take care of things so intently.  Check her out.

She caught my eye this day as she softly placed her doll in the stroller and then lovingly wrapped and picked her up, shushing her while she walked.  It reminded me of my own days of shushing my own colicky newborn.

Once playing, she cared so sweetly for that baby, washing her and laying her on the blanket beside her.  Of course, she is still 23 months, so her toes were pretty enticing too.

Then off to the kitchen she went!  I love to catch the little details of her playing that I notice as the mom-model: on the phone and pushing the buttons on the microwave!  And then there's those toes!  Our little girl is a toe walker, so even though she was sometimes standing on her tippy toes to reach the microwave, other times, she would just stand on those toes for no reason at all.  Strangers love to tell us that they have a child who did the same thing.

Ahh the life of being almost two.  I wish I didn't have to blink - as surely as I see it with my 10 year old, the years will flash and be gone.  I'm ever so grateful to have this time with her and to have learned a skill that will help me capture that time forever.
